Crypto Markets
Bitcoin eased to roughly $76.8K over the past day, keeping consolidation intact near the high‑$77K area while sentiment sits in “Fear,” according to CoinMarketCap’s BTC update. The backdrop remained fragile after Binance reopened withdrawals and customers pulled about $3.6 billion, CoinDesk reported, a reminder of lingering counterparty caution following the exchange’s recent security incident highlighted by the Wall Street Journal. ETF flow signals stayed soft. CoinMarketCap’s data show U.S. spot bitcoin ETF AUM has dipped to $102.75B from $111.1B a month ago, pointing to tempered near‑term demand. In Ethereum, U.S. spot funds posted a record $1.61B in October outflows, which has weighed on price even as some see deleveraging as a longer‑term positive, per CoinMarketCap’s ETH update. Majors bled modestly: ETH fell about 1.3%, SOL dropped roughly 2.5%, and BNB lost just over 2% based on verified pricing, while XRP inched higher. Broader alt weakness has been linked to risk‑off flows tied to the Binance hack and ETF selling, CoinMarketCap noted. Italy’s Intesa Sanpaolo more than doubled its crypto exposure to about $235M, adding ETH and XRP‑linked products, per CoinMarketCap, underscoring steady but selective institutional uptake. Under the surface, dispersion widened. NEAR slid sharply in the last 24 hours amid a broader sell‑off in AI‑themed crypto assets, according to CoinMarketCap’s NEAR analysis. On the payments side, Token Terminal’s TRON Q3 review (via The Block) highlighted record average stablecoin supply of $92B and $2.18T in transfer volume, reinforcing the stablecoin sector’s structural growth even as spot crypto prices consolidate.
